Studio oculistico Vincieye S.r.l (Vincieye Ophthalmic centre) relies on the professionalism and skill of Dr. Paolo Vinciguerra, M.d. in addition to talented ophthalmic surgeons and highly qualified staff. The centre boasts some of the most sophisticated and innovative equipment and instruments available in the ophthalmic sector and used for the diagnosis of retinal disorders, cataracts, corneal transplants and treating glaucoma. The centre performs all the eye examinations and tests used for evaluating the suitability of patients for refractive surgery, for treating myopia, hypermetropia, astigmatism and presbyopia, as well as retreatments and corneal opacifications

SERVICES PROVIDED

Ophthalmology Examinations
Actions: vision tests, vision tests with accommodation paralysis, measurement of pressure tonicity, examination of the fondus oculi

Ophthalmology examinations targeted at assessing suitability for the refractive treatment of myopia, myopia and astigmatism, hypermetropia, hypermetropic astigmatism and pure astigmatism.

Orthoptic examinations: assessment of ocular motility, stereopsis, convergence, binocular vision etc. These examinations help the ophthalmic surgeon in the diagnosis of latent or clear strabismus. These examinations allow the detection of latent deviations which might result in the onset of diplopia or double vision following refractive surgery

Corneal Topography – This examination, which is routinely performed at the centre, is important for assessing the shape of the cornea, for diagnosing astigmatism and for their improved correction. Essential in the early diagnosis of certain disorders and their progression. It is indispensable in pre-operatory and post-operatory assessments for excimer laser surgery (refractive and therapeutic)

Tomography – This is a form of scanning topography which allows the precise assessment of the thickness of the entire cornea. The examination helps in the diagnosis of keratoconus and any thinning of the cornea

Pachymetry
– This examination allows the measurement f corneal thickness. This assessment is essential for deciding the operating strategy for refractive surgery

Corneal Endothelial Microscopy - This examination highlights not only the morphology of the corneal endothelial cells, but also their numbers and distribution. This is useful in the diagnosis of disorders or irregularities caused by the corneal endothelial cells, which is a contraindication for refractive surgery. It also allows the monitoring of any endothelial variations caused by the use of contact lenses and surgery

Visual field – computerised static and dynamic, yellow-blue. From the visual field, it is possible to get a picture of retinal nerve fibre function. This is useful in the diagnosis of damage caused by glaucoma and is essential for monitoring the progression of the disorder over time.

FDT – An examination rather similar to the Visual Field, which, thanks to the analysis and frequency, is capable of detecting retinal nerve fibre alterations. Useful in the early diagnosis of glaucoma

IBIS visual rehabilitation method - IBIS or Improved Biofeedback System      this has been developed to allow the optimal exploitation of residual retinal areas in eyes affected by disorders reducing visual capacity, or in cases where the visual organ has not developed sufficiently (amblyopia). For further information, please contact your ophthalmic practitioner.

OPD By analysing refraction, aberrometry and corneal topography, this examination allows a comprehensive analysis of visual quality. The examinations performed using this instrument can be used in conjunction with excimer lasers giving improved correction of the refractive defect.

Aberrometry - This examination analyses potential qualitative alterations in vision which can be the result of alterations in the eye’s dioptric capacity . It thus allows the analysis of visual quality, even in emmetropic patients (not using corrective lenses).

Confocal Microscopy

Measurement of monometric tonicity and curvature

Contact lens assessment and adjustment
